May 2013 Member Spotlight: Mike Johnson

Given his upbringing on a farm in southwest Minnesota, it is no surprise that Mike Johnson isn’t afraid of a little hard work. He is usually one of the first Rosemount Rotarians to sign up for any service project and has been a dedicated STRIVE mentor since the club started the program.

In addition to being a stellar volunteer, Mike is one of the club’s charter members and the current treasurer of Rosemount Rotary. As the owner and operator of Rosemount-based Dakota Awards and Engraving, Mike found that Rotary was a way for him to connect with other community leaders while also giving back to the community.

Mike is a husband to Lisa and father to two lovely girls – Jennifer, an assistant director at Medtronic’s Child Care Center, and Kendra, a nursing student in Iowa. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce and loves Godfather’s Pizza.
